Yahoo introduced new sounds with version 8.0 of their messenger, some people prefer them.. others can not even hear them as they are much quieter. A simple method for converting back to the old sounds is to replace the new sounds. The tool lets you pick and choose which sounds (old and new) for each event and for each user! You can quickly choose to set all alert sounds to the old or new sounds for any number of users on your machine.
